mouseOver madness?

Here is a collection of how to's that cover pretty well anything you might want to change when your mouse moves over something. The examples are all functional - although the pages are not quite as pretty as everything else in the freehelp section.

There are many different ways to code these effects. The examples are all as simple as I can make them.

mouseOver

has this effect

text

makes text appear elsewhere on the page

see it

text

makes an image appear elsewhere on the page

see it

text

makes two images appear elsewhere on the page

see it

image

makes that image change

see it

image

makes a different image change (elsewhere on the page)

see it

image

makes two images appear elsewhere on the page

see it

image

makes text appear elsewhere on the page

see it

image

makes a sound and changes that image

see it

Important note: the text and image(s) that 'appear' on mouseOvers have to have space pre-allocated for them in which they appear. With text, that is done by assigning a div to the text; with images, it's really the replacement of one image with another image.

How do they all work? You can look at the source code and help yourself. There are enough comments in the source code to make it simple for you to adapt this code for your own pages. As with everything else in the freehelp section, you're on your own with this code - sorry, no support.
